Urgent Solutions: Kids First
When there’s an urgent need for safety, an Emergency Protection Order (EPO) may be the right step. But while it offers protection, it can also create confusion and disruption for families—especially when it comes to parenting and day-to-day routines.

There are often long delays before the EPO is reviewed or the court holds a hearing. This can leave everyone in limbo, unsure of what comes next.
I offer a focused, three-hour mediation session to help families find practical, short-term solutions after an EPO—always with the best interests of the children at the heart of every conversation.
We can talk about:

-
Parenting time with safety measures in place;
-
Safe transitions of the children;
-
Establishing communication protocols;
-
Retrieval of personal items from the family home;
-
Limiting the potential for future instances of family violence;
-
Minimizing disruption to the children’s lives;
-
Temporary financial arrangements to ensure the children are financially stable; and
-
What steps come next in the legal process.
All mediation sessions take place over Zoom, using breakout rooms so everyone has space to speak safely.
Family violence mediation takes care and awareness. I approach each case with sensitivity, understanding the dynamics of abuse and the importance of safety. I use safeguards to address any power imbalances and make sure the process is fair for everyone.

Cost:
-
3-hour session: $750 flat rate
-
Extra time (if needed): $295/hour
If you’re navigating a difficult time after an EPO, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity, stability, and a focus on your children’s well-being.
